Amazon region, Central and South America wildlife and travel photos

If you think that I am some sort of intrepid explorer, I am not. My wife saw a last minute cruise to the Amazon and back for £600. We were anchored off  Belem for 2 days, from where we took a small boat up the numerous channels. The natives were friendly and all seemed very happy. If you like seeing tree trunks for 360 degrees it would be just dandy.
The light levels were grim under the canopy and Belem is one of the worlds wettest cities. Being on the equator it was warm rain and we even ate lunch alfresco in the rain, however this meant f2.8 was the norm as I only took 2 zooms with me for lightness. Also being in a group enabled the wildlife to spot us first and hide away.
