Technical Details
I use the finest lenses in their class (see Steam Railway Photography) and save in TIFF from original RAW files for the optimum reproduction quality.
This means that in most cases exhibition prints of 60 inches (over 1.5 metres) are easily achieved for my steam railway photographs and some, where I have stitched photos together, up to 10 foot high.
One recipient described a recent 60" exhibition print as "Absolutely amazing", another as "stunning"
Not all my wildlife photos will go this big due to sometimes having to resort to a higher ISO speed to stop action, so some of the fine detail is lost.
Untill the spring of 2011 I was mainly uploading small thumbnails to assist with website loading, however as broadband speeds have increased it now allows me to upload much larger photos.
With over 1200 wildlife and steam train pictures, this is a main consideration.
So if you are not sure about the quality of an image just ask me to send a full size section as per below
