All of these different kinds of Butterfly can be seen in Killamarsh, with the execption of the Marble White Butterfly and the Dark Green Fritillary which require a specific habitat.

2011 started off briliantly for butterfly photography, the hot spring brought out a profusion of butterflies, however this soon turned into a drought and consequently the lack of flowers means a lack of food. May and June have been very poor as there has been virtually no food plants in this area. Every cloud has a silver lining as we have a colony of Ringlets on the Rother Valley Country Park. I have only ever seen one in this region before.
